How a round robin works

In a round robin every team plays every other team the same number of times. With an even number of teams that takes one fewer week than you have teams: six teams need five weeks, eight teams need seven. Each week every team plays exactly once.

An odd number of teams adds one week and one bye. Five teams need five weeks, and each week a different team sits out. Rotating the bye is what keeps the season fair; a spreadsheet that always benches the same team on the same week is the most common scheduling mistake in rec ball.

Home and away should also come out even. In a single round robin with an odd number of games per team, the best you can do is a one-game difference. Play each pair twice, home and home, and every team lands at exactly half.

A round robin is the easy part

The pairings above take seconds. Turning them into a season on two shared fields with practice nights and blackout dates is what eats a volunteer's weekend. That part is what LeagueMind does.

Real dates on real fields

A round robin says who plays whom. A season says Saturday at 9 on Field 2. LeagueMind assigns every game to the slots your fields actually have.

Several divisions at once

Rookies, Minors, and Majors each need their own round robin, and they all want the same Saturday mornings. The generator fits them together without a double-booking.

Practice nights and blackout dates

Tuesday practice means Tuesday stays clear whenever the calendar allows. Spring break and tournament weekends get routed around instead of run over.

Spacing that feels fair

No back-to-back nights, rematches spread across the calendar, and no team stuck with the same early time slot three Saturdays running.

One link for every family

Publish once. Parents filter to their team, add games to their phone, and follow live scores. No app, no accounts.

Hand edits that stick

Move a game, add a makeup, or enter an interleague matchup by hand. Regenerating the rest of the season leaves your edits alone.

Proven in season

Built with real leagues.

McCabe Park Little League ran its entire Spring 2026 season on LeagueMind: every division, every field, every Saturday. Real leagues shape every feature we ship.
